Pressure Question 2:

2) A physics teacher has a weight of 800N. If his feet have an area of 0.025 square metres each, what pressure does he exert on the ground?
(Remember, he has two feet!)

Total area = 2 x 0.025 = 0.05 square metres
                                             (2 feet - remember?)

Pressure = force ÷ area
              = 800 ÷ 0.05
              =16,000 Pa

that sounds like a lot, but remember that when the area is small, you tend to get big pressures.
